What 2008 brought me was endless joys and pains. We experienced the sorrow of the Wenchuan earthquake, as well as the successful 2008 Olympics. Everything especially what happened in the disaster areas. It shows us how precious the love is.
When the news came that the earthquake struck Sichuan, we were all shocked. The rescue work started as soon as possible. The soldiers found a young woman who was buried under the blocks for many days. She died, but to our great surprise, the baby in her arms survived. Under the baby’s blanket was a cell phone and there was a message the mother left to her child. It read “My dear child, if you survive, please remember I love you forever.” What a great mother! She protected her child at the cost of her life. On hearing the report, I was so moved that my eyes were filled with tears. I realized that mothers’ love was noble.
Love means devoting ourselves to others. We should appreciate those who help us and love us. Love is precious, and we should value it. As long as we share the joys and sorrows with others, we will be powerful enough to overcome any difficulties.
