Say good bye to U.K.… Tube Stop: Westminster, St. James's Park Check out 4 Li Jun’s Travel Itinerary Due to the short Vacation, I will spend most of my time in London this time. The following are the Details: 16th, Jan. 2006 DAY 1 Depart China for London, England Passport, credit card, Hotel Booking Number, plane tickets (2 way) , theatre ticket information. Arrive at London Heathrow airport. Take a tube to centre London after I come through Her Majesty's Customs. Arrive at the hotel and check in. Collect groceries at the local store and obtain my London Travel Pass at the nearest tube stop. Take the tube to Green Park Tube Stop and walk past Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Trafalgar Square, The Admiralty Building, 10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament and home from Westminster Tube Stop. I will be good and tired and ready for a good sleep, if still have Jet Lag, I will try hang out during the night;) 17th, Jan. 2006 DAY 2 Morning: visit to the Tower of London (tube stop: Tower Hill) to see the Crown Jewels and this marvelous Norman fortification. Don't forget to see the Norman Chapel. Catch the double decker bus #15 to St. Paul's Cathedral. Climb to the dome for a view. Be sure not to miss the vaults. Grab a pub lunch near Trafalgar Square. Spend the afternoon inside the National Gallery A quiet night at home? I think so. 18th, Jan. 2006 DAY 3 Proceed to Westminster Bridge for a 1/2 day visit to Greenwich: "where time begins," The Cutty Sark, The Queen's House., The Royal Naval Academy Afternoon visit to the Royal Mews and the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace (tube stop: Green Park) Have a good dinner at a Restaurant at 6:00 pm, nearby theatre Attend a play in the West End. Be sure to collect my ticket at the theatre one hour before curtain. 19th, Jan. 2006 DAY 4 Day trip to Windsor Castle. Take a taxi to Paddington Station for Windsor, changing at Slough. Windsor is a lovely little town and an excellent place for shopping. Visit the State Apartments as well as the Royal Mews which displays some of the royal carriages. 20th, Jan. 2006 DAY 5 A day of museums or spend the day shopping for my lovely girlfriend in Shanghai;) I will visit the Victoria and Albert Museum in the morning. This would be a wonderful experience Tube Stop: South Kensington In the afternoon I will visit the British Museum: The Elgin Marbles,The Magna Carta, The Rosetta Stone, original letters and memorability (Thomas Hardy, The Beatles, etc.) If I can still going, I will visit the WALLACE COLLECTION which is the finest museum anywhere for 18th century decorative arts. Supper: Go and have a wonderful hamburger at the HARD ROCK CAFE. (Tube Stop: Green Park) 21st, Jan. 2006 DAY 6 A day out of London: Take the train from Waterloo for the Isle of Wight. The train goes to Portsmouth Harbor; the Sea Link crosses the Solent for Ryde (a wonderful little seaside town) and the local bus takes one directly to Queen Victoria's magnificent villa at Osborne. It would be a most wonderful day. The round-trip ticket includes train and ferry crossing. Evening at the theatre and a farewell dinner at a local restaurant close to my hotel. 22nd, Jan. 2006 DAY 7 Today is my last day in London visiting important sites. I would spend the time visiting two of the most important sites in English history if time permits: The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Depart 2 hours before departure time from Heathrow airport. I must be at the airport 1 hours prior to departure. Say good bye to London and U.K. And back to Shanghai with gifts for my friends.
