Nation's leading proponent for aggressive reform throughout the federal government. → Co-authored the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, ending the evasion of campaign finance laws by wealthy individuals and corporations through indirect campaign contributions or "soft money." → Sponsored the Pork-Barrel Reduction Act to curtail earmarks and promote greater transparency and disclosure throughout the entire legislative process and community. → Spearheaded the Defense Acquisition Reform Act to increase transparency and accountability in the Pentagon's weapons acquisition system and minimize the wasteful spending of taxpayer money. → Developed and presented a motion to establish an earmark moratorium for FY09. • FOREIGN POLICY.
