The object of the IEC is to promote international cooperation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical fields. These standard have been approved by more than 50 different countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, India, Indonesia, South Africa, New Zealand, USA… A rapid need to perform electrical operations evolved with the time. This resulted in regional or national working on specific standards without coordination. IEC standards were developed according to a consensus procedure and approved by recognised body. They provide an adequate answer at worldwide level.
