Dracula Since I have seen the Twilight, I was tempted in vampires. Usually, they are described to be handsome, fierce, hematophagous. Dracula is such a novel written about a vampire. Actually, it is an epistolary novel as series of diaries and letters. It has been attributed to many literary genres including vampire literature, horror fiction. The tale begins with Jonathan Harker, a newly qualified English solicitor, journeying by train and carriage from England to Count Dracula's crumbling, remote castle (situated in the Carpathian Mountains on the border of Transylvania, Bukovina and Moldavia). The purpose of his mission is to provide legal support to Dracula for a real estate transaction overseen by Harker's employer, Peter Hawkins, of Exeter in England. At first enticed by Dracula's gracious manner, Harker soon discovers that he has become a prisoner in the castle. He also begins to see disquieting facets of Dracula's nocturnal life. However, things soon change to be very unnormal. It is surprising to find that Dracula is the evil creature, vampire. Harker’s fiancée, Mina, and her friend, Lucy soon become his prey. Later, Lucy and her mother are dead and Mina is controlled by Dracula. They get help from Professor Van Helsing, they drive Dracula back to his castle and finally destroy him. The book closes with a note about Mina's and Jonathan's married life and the birth of their first-born son, whom they name after all four members of the party, but refer to only as Quincey in remembrance of their American friend. The movie Bram Stoker’s Dracula is adapted from the novel. The characters in the film are quite similar to that in the book, but the theme of the movie is love and it highlights the hopeless love of Dracula. From my point of view, I show pity on Dracula, why he becomes a vampire? Maybe he has already known it is useless, everything is made in vain. Just as Elena and Stefan’s love in the Vampire’s dairy, their first meeting is in a sad mood, the ending can be very painful. As vampires are very dangerous, it is usually very breathtaking to love a vampire. But women have a sprite of adventure and expect to experience the forbiddances. Frankly, it is unwise. This is an interesting novel and its ending is not so happy in some degree. I appreciate Hanker’s courage and his deep love to Mina; it reminds me man can always make it if he decides to do it.
