英语故事：一个关于帽子的故事

A Story of a hat Called "Gaht" This story comes from the Chosun period in Korea. People of the noble class were called "yangban" at the time. They had to wear a hat named a "gaht" after married. Whenever they went outside,they were required to wear a "gaht". One day,a yangban who was wearing a nice gaht went on a journey. He went to "Geojedo," one of the beautiful islands in Korea. The yangban was looking around the island. All of a sudden,a big gust of wind blew his gaht away. "Oh,no! I'm in big trouble now!" he said. Indeed,a married yangban couldn't go around without wearing a gaht. It was like wearing only your underwear when going outside. He thought and thought. Finally he said, "Ah,I have an idea! I'll go talk to the person who manages the village." He found the lord of the village and said, "Sir,while I was passing through your village,the wind blew away my gaht. Since it was blown off in this village,it still must bu here. I believe you are responsible for finding it,right?" The lord thought for a moment; "What he said is not wrong,but I know I won't be able to find it. I don't want to buy him one. A new gaht is too expensive. Hmm...I know!" The lord said. "Please wait have a while,Sir." The lord called his servant, "Come quickly,and do what I tell you. Go to the seashore and call in the fishermen." Meanwhile,the yangban was not sure what the lord was up to. "I lost my gaht in the village. Why is he calling for the fishermen?" he wondered. The fishermen arrived quickly. The lord said, "Well...our guest here says that the wind blew his gaht away. Therefore,you,fishermen,must buy a new gaht for him." The first fishermen replied, "What! Why do we have to buy him a gaht?" The lord answerd,"There says ago,didn't you,fishermen, have an offering to the sky,asking for no wind to blow on the sea?" The second fishermen said,"Yes. We did...!" The lord replied,"Since you asked the sky not to blow wind on the sea, all of the wind has blow on the land. It's your fault this guest's gaht blew awaya1" The fishermen were confused. They knew his decision was unfair,but they couldn't come up with a better answer. Reluctantly,the fishermen bought a new gaht for the yangban. The yangban thanked the fishermen and the lord for his new gaht and thought, "That load sure is a quick thinker! Ha! Ha!"
