Children are the future of the development of a nation, so the issues related to children has aroused increasingly concern around the world. Russia, as one of the largest country in the world which has the great influence on the international issues, should protect children’s rights in survival and development.
The United Nations have achieved a lot in protecting children’s rights in survival and development. Such as Convention on the Rights of the Child. The chance to survive is a right owed to every child. UNICEF and its partners are leading global efforts to end preventable child deaths, working with governments, national and international agencies, and civil society to support effective and life-saving actions at each phase in a child’s life, from prenatal care in a mother’s pregnancy to effective and affordable health care through childhood and into adulthood. All these actions to protect the children in contribution
Russia, in the political and economic and cultural exchange has an important voice. We do many things, such as, launches unite for against AIDS; textbook on children's rights receives award during Russia Education Week 2008 and so on. In the run-up to 20 November 2009, the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF is featuring a series of stories about this landmark international agreement on the basic human rights of all children – including progress made and challenges that remain. MOSCOW, Russian Federation, 4 November 2009 – UNICEF Russia has launched a series of public service announcements dedicated to protecting child rights. The campaign underlines the importance of considering the interests of the child in all important decisions, whether at the family or state level. Since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) 20 years ago, a generation has come of age and much has changed for their betterment in Russia. In recent years, significant funding has been allocated for social programmers, new laws have been adopted and family systems have been improved. To advance this message, UNICEF Russia has commissioned public service announcements for video, billboard and magazine display. The announcements, launched this week, will be displayed and broadcast nationally and regionally through 1 March 2010. As part of its child-friendly city partnership with UNICEF, the government of Moscow makes many city billboards available to the organization to spread its messages about child rights!
Children’s rights will be guaranteed in Russia. Meanwhile we will soon carry out the framework on stopping violence against children. We will try to ameliorate the circumstance of the children’s living. We will encourage more and more media to give equitable coverage to child’s education, child’s health and so on. To better solve the problem, Russia, the largest country in the world, calls for all member states which are suffering the problems of children survival join and take efficient actions to combat this challenge. And we need to further the international cooperation with the human rights council in order to dedicate to furthering the cause of human rights.
