摘 要
本試驗之目的係在探討修喙對白羅曼生長鵝生長與血液性狀之影響。選取體重相近1日齡白羅曼鵝96隻,分成三個處理組,即對照組,不修喙,、2日齡修喙與滿4週齡修喙,並以網狀高床飼養,每處理有4欄,每欄飼養8隻鵝,公母各半,。0至3週齡之飼料含粗蛋白質19.3%,代謝能 2900 kcal/kg,4至8週齡之飼料含粗蛋白質16.1%,代謝能 2900 kcal/kg。全期之飼料與水採任食,試驗期8週。每週稱量鵝隻個別體重及每欄採食量1次。每2週採血1次,2週齡雛鵝以蹠靜脈,superficial plantar metatarsal vein,採血,4週齡以後則以翼靜脈採血,以供

測定紅血球相及白血球相。試驗結果顯示,在2日齡修喙處理組之鵝隻在手術後1週之隻日增重與採食量減少,其他週齡各處理組間鵝隻之體重、隻日增重、採食量及飼料效率無顯著差異,然而4週齡修喙及對照組之鵝隻啄羽嚴重。在雛鵝2、4、6與8週齡時各處理組之紅血球數目、血紅素濃度、血容比值、平均紅血球容積、平均紅血球血紅素量與平均紅血球血紅素濃度在處理組之間亦無顯著差異。在6週齡時以4週齡修喙之鵝隻異嗜性白血球顯著增加,而淋巴球百分比值減少,P ,0.05,,並且異嗜性白血球/淋巴球,H/L,百分比值有較高之趨勢,P,0.1,。從羽毛性狀及從動物福祉指標之H/L比值觀之,鵝隻以2日齡修喙較4週齡時修喙適宜。

Abstract
The objective of this experiment was to establish the effect of bill trimming on
growth performance, erythrocyte and leukocyte pictures in White Roman goslings
from 0 to 8 wks of age. Ninety-six 1-day-old White Roman goslings with similar
body weight were randomly divided into three treatments: bill trimming at 2 days old,
bill trimming at 4 weeks old and no bill trimming (control). Feed and water were
supplied ad libitum during the experimental period. Individual body weight of
goslings and total feed intake of each pen were measured once a week. The blood
samples from 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age were collected to measure the hematological
values. The results indicated that the average daily gain and daily feed intake
decreased in bill trimming at 2-day-old goslings one week after operation; however,
there were no significant difference among the treatments for body weight, average
daily gain and daily feed intake, the values of red blood cell and leukocyte number,
hemoglobin, packed cell volume, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular
hemoglobin concentration and mean corpuscular hemoglobin. The percentage of
heterophils increased and the percentage of lymphocytes decreased (P < 0.05) and
heterophil to lymphocyte ratios (H/L) was a tendency higher at 6 weeks of age in bill
trimming at 4-week-old goslings (P < 0.1). The goslings with bill trimming at 4-
week-old and no bill trimming had naked skin because of feather pecking. Based on
the viewpoint of pecking feather and H/L ratios of animal welfare indicator, the
optimal bill trimming age is 2 day old for White Roman goslings.
