无畏的希望 The Audacity of Hope (英语093班 沃挺 200910010327 ) To be honest,after I finished reading the book,I was a little tired and was still confused a lot about the political systems in America and the thAmerican society.It is an autobiography of the 44 American president----Barack ? Obama,but the book was written and finished before he won the election and became the president.In order to illustrate his perspectives and views to American society and politics,he spent numbers of pages dialysing and exposing the American society or political problems such as racial ,beliefs, values and so on,from a very deep level. America was a disordered and mixed society,so was the politics ,but in the book, Obama aimed at changing the American democracy as well as the politics,It became the most important gist of his autobiography.Through narrating his personal experiences,he summarized the American modern politics and tried to grope for the deep reasons of the partisan rancor;he discussed a new kind of republic politics on the basis of the common values;he pointed out that the constitution was not only the origin of individual rights,but also an efficient tool to organize democratic dialogues and cooperations;he concluded that a successful political system demanded compromise and collaboration, and that those factions that decry political compromise were too consumed with strategy and minor victories to be truly interested in the overarching benefit of the nation.Besides,he also gave some personal suggestions on helping American families to deal with the economic risks that increased more and more rapidly in nowdays American society, the internal racial and religious tension,as well as transnational threats, terrorism, epidemic and other problems in America. The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream is the second book written by then-Senator Barack Obama. In the fall of 2006 it became number one on both the New York Times and Amazon.com bestsellers lists.Why it became so popular at that time?Personally,I believed the book presented readers a very positive attitude towards life,that's my first impression of this book.Obama gave the hope to all the Americans,making the American dream renewed. Since a little boy,Obama's mother had been teaching him such values:tolerance,equality,assistance and democracy,this played a very important role in forming his character.In this book,Obama just standed by these values to look into the political and social issues of America.In his opinion,the different political rules between the two parties and the conflicts and confrontation between the politicians had made America into a very dangerous position.Besides,the diversity of values existed in American people ,in fact,also led America to be far away from its national spirit that founded at the beginning of American history.As a result,he thought,the better resolvent and exit of American society was to reiterate the American dream to the millions of numb people.Facing the serious problems and situations in the American society,he gave a lot of specific and humanistic suggestions and resolvents,which would inspired the millions of American people to have an optimistic heart to their lives and their nation.Every American needed a hope,the audacity of hope. What is Audacity? Just imagine Obama, before wining the president election,he experienced plenty of unbelievable difficulties and frustrations .He had been refuted,cheated,humiliated,he once angry,painful,despaired.He never gave up,he never be defeated,through courage,sweat,and intelligence. Everyone need to fight against his destiny,but everyone is able to be the winner.No matter what you have encountered,being betrayed by others or suffering from terrible illness,you still need to bravely believe ,that you are still in charge of your own destiny,you have the commitment and responsibility with your life. I am totally inspired,not only by Obama,but also the people that ate referred to in his book.They always have a brave heart,the audacity of hope.We have hope in our hearts,we have friends surrounded by,we all have a bright future.
