I'm federal agent Jack Bauer, and today is going to be the longest day of my life. Jack Bauer: {Voice Over} The following takes place between 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. on the day of the California Presidential primary. EXT. POWER PLANT {Senator Palmer's motorcade arrives as we hear a newscaster say} NEWSCASTER: It's just after seven A.M. on the west coast and the California primary is officially underway. We're here outside the San Claratia power plant here in Los Angeles where Senator David Palmer will be addressing local labor leaders… {We veer off from the reporter to Jonathan who is walking toward the plant as his cell rings} JONATHAN: Yeh. IRA GAINES: Bauer's on his way, you in yet? JONATHAN: Just about. IRA GAINES: Good. {Hangs up} FADE OUT:::: {Jonathan enters the power plant and is stopped by a aid on the Senator's staff} JESSICA ABRAM: Martin Belkin? JONATHAN: Yes. JESSICA ABRAM: Hi, I'm Jessica Abram, I work for Senator Palmer. It's a pleasure to meet you. Can I help you with that suitcase? JONATHAN: No thanks I got it. JESSICA ABRAM: Okay, right this way. JONATHAN: Is the Senator here yet? JESSICA ABRAM: He's on his way. {Jonathan comes to the weapons check area where Agent Pierce is waiting for him} JONATHAN: I'm taking some pictures of the Senator today. IRA GAINES: Pull over to it. {A man sitting on a bench stands up and puts a briefcase in Jack's car} IRA GAINES: Don't touch it until I tell you to, now go. JACK BAUER: I'm not going anywhere until I can talk to my wife and my daughter. IRA GAINES: Oh you'll do this because it won't be any inconvenience to hurt your daughter or your wife for that matter. San Clarita Power Plant 417 Ridgeway road get over there now. {Jack speeds off} IRA GAINES: This is only temporary Mrs Bauer, if your husband follows instructions you'll be released within the hour. TERI BAUER: Take me to her please. {A couple of Gaines men take her to Kim} 7:08:36, 7:08:37, 7:08:38 {Gaines through the computer contacts our CTU agency mole Jamey Farrel. She gets the instant message on her computer. Jamey grabs her PDA and heads for the bathroom} {Gaines says through a microphone and into Jamey's PDA} IRA GAINES: Does this kid Milo know he's working on the wrong keycard? {Jamey hit's the yes icon} IRA GAINES: Is this going to be a problem? {Jamey hit's the no Icon} IRA GAINES: Nina Myers is dead, make up a story why she's not there. FADE OUT::: INT. GAINES COMPOUND HOLDING CELL {Teri is brought in the holding cell to join Kim} {They hug for a while} 24 TIMER 7:11:19, 7:11:20, 7:11:21 COMMERCIAL BREAK 7:15: 42, 7:15:43, 7:15:44 KIM BAUER: Where's dad? I promise you. 7:17:18, 7:18:19, 7:18:20, {Nina has found an old shed where luckily she spots a phone as she breaks into the shed she tries to call Jamey but she doesn't answer. She then calls Tony and he answers.} TONY ALMEIDA: Almedia. NINA MYERS: Tony. TONY ALMEIDA: Nina, where have you been? NINA MYERS: I can't get into it. TONY ALMEIDA: Well force yourself. Where are you? NINA MYERS: Just east of downtown. TONY ALMEIDA: What are you doing there? NINA MYERS: Tony, listen to me. No one at CTU can know that I'm alive. TONY ALMEIDA: Ah, never mind. {Tony walks back to his desk and continues talking to Nina} TONY ALMEIDA: Look, if someone doesn't tell me what's going on I'm going straight to Chapel. GAINES COMPOUND HOLDING CELL {Teri looks out the window as Rick enters} RICK: I brought you guys some breakfast. TERI BAUER: Who the hell are you? RICK: I'm Rick. TERI BAUER: The one who kidnapped my daughter {She attacks him as Kim pulls her off Rick} {Eli enters} ELI: Gaines wants to go over some things with us...........What's going here Rick? RICK: Nothing. ELI: It's better if you don't make friends. RICK: I wasn't. ELI: Good because they ain't gonna be around much longer. RICK: What do you mean? FADE OUT::::: INT. CTU. {Tony opens the back door and lets Nina in} NINA MYERS: Is it safe to come in here? TONY ALMEIDA: Yeah I looped the cameras. POWER PLANT MEDICAL STATION THREE {Jonathan enters the little room where Jack is waiting. Jonathan opens a briefcase containing a unassembled sniper rifle.} JONATHAN: Assemble it. JACK BAUER: You want my prints on this weapon....... Do you really think that anyone's going to believe that I shot David Palmer? {Jonathan takes the gun and puts it into his bag and starts to walk out but not before Jack holds a gun to Jonathan's head.} JONATHAN: You better put that away. Someone could get hurt. {Jonathan walks out} 24 TIMER 7:37:08, 7:37:09, 7:37:10 COMMERCIAL BREAK 7:41:19, 7:41:20, 7:41:21 ANCHORMAN: We're watching the Senator work the floor before he gives the speech. INT. CTU. TONY ALMEIDA: Milo, you were right. The keycard was forged. We found the original. MILO: Where? TONY ALMEIDA: Jack's office. MILO: Why did he swap it out? TONY ALMEIDA: Doesn't matter. I sent it down to archive so they can make a backup on all information on it. When they're done it's going straight to you. You’re going to have to work quickly. {Tony walks back to ITS as Nina has a monitor on Jamey} NINA MYERS: She's squirming......She's on the move. {Jamey walks into the bathroom stall but Gaines has a monitor of that room so he could see anyone who walks in} NINA MYERS: Ladies room second to last stall. These cameras are on a twenty-second loop. TONY ALMEIDA: Am I clear? JAMEY FARREL: I just found out division went to pick up Bauer at the power plant. They have been looking for him all night. IRA GAINES: Why? JAMEY FARREL: Because he’s been breaking protocol since you got to him.
