即使你和每个月都被 deadline追着跑的小编一样,要从周一忙到周五,也别忘了在周末放松神经,在学习与生活 之间找到平衡的支点哦~ Do you have the feeling that life is getting away from you, that there aren’t enough hours in the day ...

Don’t worry, it’s not just you, the pace of city life really is speeding up. A recent survey found that city 1)dwellers are walking 10% faster than in 1994. Singapore topped the list with locals rushing around 30% faster than they were in the early 1990s. 2)Deliberately slowing your pace against this rising tide of 3)rushaholics could see you swiftly 4)swatted out of the way by 5)irritable 6)commuters, but just by 7)toning down the feeling that you have to “do more and do it faster” can have plenty of long term benefits. At least that’s the belief of author Carl Honoré, a man whose own slow life 8)epiphany came when he found himself speed reading bedtime stories to his son. His book In Praise of Slow 9)champions the benefits of taking more time to consider things. Slowing, Not Slacking If it all sounds to you like a 10)slacker’s 11)manifesto, you’re not yet 12)in tune with the concept of this new lifestyle. Slowing down doesn’t mean slacking. The Slow Movement is a cultural shift which proposes 13)consciously seizing control of time rather than being 14)dictated by it, finding a balance between using time-saving technology, and taking the time to enjoy a walk or a meal with others. While technology can speed up working, learning, eating and dating, the most important things in life should not be rushed. “But why slow down when you can multi-task,” you might ask? “Multi-tasking is going to slow you down, increasing the chances of mistakes,” an expert said. “15)Disruptions and 16)interruptions are a bad deal from the aspect of our ability to process information.” Slow Life Tips Drink more tea. Making a cup of tea is the perfect 17)displacement activity to 18)idly consider absolutely nothing and everything. Walk more. What could be better than moving at a pace nature intended and getting some fresh air round you? You’ll see much more than by taking public transport or driving. Get a Slow hobby. Take time to enjoy reading, writing, knitting, yoga, painting or gardening. Enjoy your food. 19)Savor a sit-down meal without watching TV or reading. Enjoy the conversation if you’re dining with others.
