(蹦极跳)
Situation 1: Helen, Jack and Robert meet for the first time on campus. They shake
hands, greet each other and introduce themselves.
Situation 2: Jack and Jim are traveling in Chongqing for the first time, but they lose
their way at a crossing. Luckily, a warm-hearted passer-by comes to their
aid and shows them the way to the Three Gorges Museum.
Situation 3: Judy passes all her final term exams with straight A’s, and her parents are
congratulating her.
Situation 4: Matthew wins the School Soccer Player of the Year Award, and he is
sharing the good news with his dorm mates.
Situation 5: Sandra and Tommy are talking about Sarah, Sandra’s close friend, who
had her legs broken while bicycling yesterday.
Situation 6: Mike’s father had a serious heart attack last night and is now in hospital.
Mike’s roommates are showing their sympathy for this bad news.
Situation 7: Laura is holding a party, while Rachel, who lives next door, is working
on a paper to be handed in early tomorrow. Rachel goes to complain about
the loud music to Laura and her guests.

Situation 8: Lisa and her friend are having dinner in a restaurant. Suddenly Lisa
bursts into a cry for she finds a fly in the steak. So they complain to the
headwaiter for a good excuse.
Situation 9: Roger wants to ride his new motorcycle to town despite the heavy snow
and the slippery road. He thinks it is COOL to ride in the snow. His
roommates (Simon and Jack) are warning him not to venture this.
Situation 10: Nancy really likes adventure and decides to try bungee jumping (蹦极
跳) in Jinyun Mountain. Her friends persuade her to give up this awful idea
by warning her of the possible danger.
Situation 11: Raymond is paying a visit to Richard’s dorm. College life seems
amazing for all of them since they are just freshmen, so they excitedly
exchange views on their own college life.
Situation 12: Mindy and her friend get lost in front of the Olympic Sports Center. But
they have to get to the airport in half an hour to take their flight. So they
turn to a passer-by Nick for help.
Situation 13: Linda had a new hairdo last week. But her friends don’t think this new
hair style matches her face quite well, so they are making some suggestions
that Linda should change a new one.

Situation 14: The final term exam is over. Tom suggests having a fancy ball this
Saturday evening and inviting the whole class to it. His roommates think it
is a good idea and they try to make a plan.
Situation 15: John is driving fast in heavy traffic. Bill and Jane fear that they might
get into trouble, so they advise John to slow down, warning him of the
possible danger.
Situation 16: Peter happens to see Jim and Jack smoking, so he comes to them and
warns them against smoking.
Situation 17: Edward and Al visit James and find him looks pale and asks what is
wrong with him. James tells them that he had some salad for supper
yesterday. They advise him to have a medical check soon.
Situation 18: Adam is from a poor family and he has no idea how to support his
schooling, his roommates are talking about how to help him.
Situation 19: Linda puts some weight these days and she wants to regain her slim
figure, so she goes to Tina asking her for tips for losing weight. Tina and
Jim (Tina’s boyfriend) remind her to think it over.
Situation 20: Jacky held his first solo piano show this Sunday evening. His friends
come to congratulate on his thrilling performance and amazing success.
