Part 1 Analysis of this lesson
This lesson is a reading passage. It plays a very important role in the teaching of this module. By studyin, I will continue to arouse the Ss’
interest in learning about newspapers and magazines, thus let students learn about Zhengzhou V and Yang Liwei. Of course, they should receive some moral education. So, I will let Ss understand the text fully and proud of the achievements our motherland made on space flight. Part 2 Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aim: to help students understand some important words such as: orbit, aboard, congratulation ,in space, historical achievements and to enable Ss to use adverbial clauses of time .
2. Ability aim: to cultivate students’ abilities of learning by themselves
and communicate with others. Students should use what they have learnt
to express their own ideas.
3. Emotional aim: to instruct Ss to be proud of the achievements our motherland made on space flight.
Part 3 Important and difficult points:
1. Help students understand some difficult words and grasp the usage of
adverbial clauses of time.
2. Students should use what they have learnt to express their own ideas. Part 4 Teaching theories:
Task-based teaching theory, student-centered teaching method and Communicative approach; combination of the language structures with the language functions
Task-based teaching theory can promote students’interest in English. On
the other hand, it can inspire the students’motivation of learning English.
Student-centered teaching method fully exerts the ss’go-aheadism and
creativity. Thus Ss are the real masters in class while the teacher acts as a director; only in this way can the teacher teach effectively and the students learn with great efficiency. Of course, when teaching, I’d like to
use the communicative approach and combine the language structures with the language functions; Also let students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language. Part 5. Teaching methods and aids:
Methods:
Double activities teaching method, pair work or individual work; question-and-answer activity; watch-and-listen activity; free discussion
Aids:
a projector, a tape recorder, multimedia, the blackboard and studying

manned spacecraft---Shenzhou V was showed at an opening ceremony of the spacecraft's re-entry vehicle(返回舱) on Saturday in Beijing. The
things aboard the Shenzhou V included China's national flag, a flag of the Beijing 2008 Olympics, the United Nations flag, a Renminbi note,
memorial stamps for China's first manned spaceflight, memorial envelopes of the manned space flight project and crop seeds from China's Taiwan Island. The things had traveled with China's first astronaut in space, Lt. Col. Yang Liwei, for over 20 hours and were returned to their owners at Saturday's ceremony. The spaceflight was so important that our secretary-general Hu Jintao said……
