Reading Good morning, dear teachers, I am number_____. It’s my great honor and pleasure to share my lesson with you. The content of my lesson is Senior English Book ______, _____taken from Unit_______. I have been ready to begin this lesson with five parts,analysis of teaching materials, analysis of students, the teaching methods and studying methods, the teaching procedures and blackboard design. Part 1: Analysis of teaching materials, including three parts. 一. The status of teaching materials. The content of my lesson is Unit____________ . This unit is about ________(topics). By studying of this unit, the students improve their reading ability and know ______________.And the SS can improve their basic English skills by doing various exercises. This lesson is in the important position of this unit, if the students can master it well, it will be helpful to learn the rest of this unit. 二.Teaching aims 1.Knowledge objective: (1).The SSmust master the usage of the important words, expressions, such as____________(写在黑板右面1,2,3,4), sentence patterns, such as______(写在黑板左面1,2) (2)The SS can get their own idea about ___________________________. 2. Ability objective: (1) To develop the SS’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, especially reading, skimming and scanning ability. (2) To train the SS’ abilities of studying by themselves and cooperation. (3).To guide the students to set up effective study strategies. 3.Emotion objective: 三.The important and difficult points 1.The important points: how to use the key words, expressions and sentence patterns as flexible as possible. Train the students’ abilities of 1 skimming and scanning. 2.The difficult points: Retell the text in their own words. Part 2: Analysis of students My students are first (second) year students of senior high school. After several years’ study, they have improved their basic English skills. They should not only use the important words and expressions, understand the grammars, but learn to analyze and appreciate the passage. They need to practice what they have learned.Some students are lack of interest and serious attitude towards study. Therefore, the teacher should spare no efforts to motivate their interest. Part 3: The teaching methods,aids and learning methods 1.The teaching methods, it mainly includes four method. (1).Total Situational Action It is a “scene--activity”teaching method .It establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and SS. (2). Task-based language teaching It offers the SS an opportunity to complete the tasks in which SS can use language to achieve a specific outcome. (3). Cooperative teaching approach They finish the tasks by cooperating with their teacher and their group members. (4). Teaching aids, includes a blackboard, a projector, a multimedia. They are for showing some audio files, some visual files, some topics or reading tasks. 2.The studying methods: It mainly includes three methods: Independent study and thinking method, Cooperative study approach, Summary and Reflection method. It can motivate the students’ interest of learning English, arouse their enthusiasm, and finally cultivate their habits of cooperative study and thinking independently. Part 4 Teaching procedures Step 1: Lead-in: Greet the students as usual. Purpose:It can be attractive to catch the SS’attention. And set up suspense for next context. Step 2: Pre-reading 1.Discuss two questions in pairs. Question1:__________________Question2:_______________________ 2. Let the students guess what is the content of the passage according to the title. 2.I will introduce the background of the passage on the screen. Purpose: Make full preparation for the new text and train their ability of creativity, understand the materials better. Step 4: While-reading (1). Skimming I will give the students one task: Read the passage as quickly as they can, then get the main idea of the passage and each paragraph. After reading and thinking it for a minute alone, answer it by individual work. (2). Scanning Students read the passage again by listening to and following the tape. They can imitate the accent. Then discuss the following detailed questions: 1._________________________________________________________ 2._________________________________________________________ 3._________________________________________________________ I will divide the class into several groups, let these groups discuss together, and choose one person from each group to sum up the answer in English, then the member from other groups can comment on their answers. Finally I will show correct answers on the screen. (3). Careful reading I will teach the new words and expressions, sentence patterns in detail, let the students take some important notes. Then I will give them a little longer time to do careful reading, do some exercises on the Page____. Purpose: It can train the students’ ability of grasping the main idea and analyzing the materials correctly. Improve the students’abilities of reading and speaking, listening and understand the given materials better by using different reading skills. Above teaching methods are used here to improve the students’ ability of communication and cooperation. Step 4: Post reading Let the students close the book, review the text and retell the passage in their own words. Choose some students to retell the passage in the front of the class. Purpose: Train the SS’ ability of speaking and help them overcome fears of speaking English in front of the others. An opportunity for them to sum up and reflect the knowledge again. Step 5 Conclusion and Homework I will summarize the lesson in a few sentences and then arrange the homework, check it next class. (1). Write a passage about 100 words according to the text. (2). Do the exercises in the workbook. Purpose:Homework is so important and necessary to check if the students achieve the teaching aims and master the knowledge they have learned. Part 5 Blackboard design I will divide the blackboard into two parts. The right part will be used to write the vocabulary, expressions and their usage. The left part will be used to write some sentence patterns. And also some examples sentences will be listed below one by one to explain them and make students understand. Purpose:Attract the students’attention and they will write down the important teaching points clearly, help them memorize orderly. That’s all. Thank you for attention.
