Teaching aims: (Times New Roman,四号,加粗,两端对齐) 听、说、读、写的目标分别写出,且必须围绕本单元主题。 (Times New Roman,小四号,两端对齐) II. Time allotment and teaching procedures: This unit is to be finished in 12 periods. It is roughly divided as follows: Listening/Speaking-centered activities: 4 periods. Reading-centered activities: 6 periods. Doing exercises and Quiz: 2 periods.(其中包括写作、作文) Listening/Speaking-centered activities I. Time allotment and teaching contents: Total class time for this unit 2 class hours Part A Pre- listening Task Questions for discussion in class (30 minutes) (This part is designed as a speaking activity for the students. Its aim is to prepare the students for the topic Parents, which will be the focus of this unit.) Part B Listening Task Text 1 and Text 2 Dating with My Mother (40 minutes) (To train the students’ ability to understand the main idea and grasp important details of the listening texts) Speaking Task Pair work (20 minutes) A. Reflections on the texts B. Debating (1.To train the students a chance to exchange views on the texts they have just heard so as to enable them to have a deeper understanding of the texts. 2.To cultivate the students’ ability to express and defend their opinions on the issues 1 related to what they have heard on the tape.) Part C Additional Listening Short conversations (10 minutes) (To train the students’ ability to understand the short conversations in this part in class.) Part D Home Listening Homework (To train the students’ ability to grasp the information that they need to put in the blanks after class.) II. Teaching procedures: Step One: Pre-listening Task 1. Arrange the students in pairs and ask them to discuss the questions in their books. 2. Bring the students’ attention to the Language Focus box and tell them that they can use the sentences and structures in the box in their conversations. 3. Give general help to the students, especially the weaker ones. 4. If time permits, or if the students belong to a more advanced group, ask them to discuss the additional questions. Step Two: Listening Task 1. Introduce some background information about the unit. 2. Play the tape of Text 1 once and ask the students to do exercise 1. Tell them to concentrate on understanding the text as a whole at this stage. 3. Ask the students if they have any difficulties with language or cultural points in the text. Explain them if necessary. 4. Play the tape once again and ask the students to do Exercise 2. 5. Do the same with Text 2. Speaking Task 1. Make the teaching purposes known to the students. 2. Ask the students to get into pairs and explain to them how to carry out Speaking Task A—Reflections on the texts. 3. Go around the classroom to supervise the students’ discussions. If necessary, the teacher may even throw in one or two challenging questions to draw then out. 4. Select a pair to present their views in class. 5. If time permits, go on to Speaking Task B—Debating. Step Three: Additional Listening Task 1. Play the tape once and ask the students to choose the best answer to each question. 2. Check their answers and correct the mistakes. Step Four: Home Listening Task Reading-Centered Activities 2 (Times New Roman,小三号,加粗,居中) In-Class Reading/Section A: (Times New Roman,四号,两端对齐) Making Work Meaningful: Secrets of the Future- Focused Corporation (Times New Roman,小四号,加粗,居中) I.
