后来,看起来有 “强移民倾向”的刘先生居然一次签证过关,此信功不可没~ Before Revision Dear visa officer: Thank you for taking time to treat my application for a J1 visa. I am a chinese orthopaedic surgeon training in Victoria Hospital till next may. With great excitement, I received a postdoctoral fellowship from Harvard University Medical School for 2 years which will start from next February. Since I wouldn’t like to greatly shorten my valuable training in Australia and my Australian director doesn’t permit me to discontinue it unless I have got the American visa, I decide to apply for my J1 visa in your consulate. I wish I would go to America directly from Australia. On American laws, it’s necessary for me to show you some evidence of not having immigration intention. But I cannot collect enough documents of my property while in Australia, actually I have no real estate in China, but only about 10,000$ bank deposit and stock. And I think those documents are not so important as the following circumstances to demonstrate my ties with China. I work as an orthopaedic attending surgeon in a famous national hospital in Beijing. I love my job, it gives me a fascinating sense of achievement when seeing smile of patients rehabilitated from bone fracture or arthritis after my operations. In China, 2/3 of my working time were spent in clinical work including surgical operations and physiotherapy, other 1/3 in laboratory research. Now I am in Australia for completely clinical training, I attend their operations everyday. In America, I will mainly perform laboratory research. After clinical training in Australia and research training in America, I will devote myself to my favorite orthopaedic surgery. My Chinese professor thinks highly of me and endorses my endeavor, I am sure I will have a bright future in China. But as you know, it’s difficult, even impossible for a Chinese to be an orthopaedic surgeon in America. I have absolutely no such intentions to give up my clinical work. Yes, I have no real estate in China at this time. But I have worked in national hospitals for about 8 years, our government will assign me a house with a very low price if I continue to work in national hospitals for some other years. The house is so expensive in Beijing that it’s the best way for us to wait for government assigning houses according to our working time. If I stay in America more than 2 years, my previous working experience will come into vanity. My fiancee and I will be disappointed and sad for we are waiting for that house to establish our own family. My parents had great pains when I was a student. They had to live a hard life to save their meagre income for my education. In chinese tradition, I should live with them together to support their evening of life in happiness. Though I have two sisters and one older brother, no one can substitute my love for my parents. I am really looking forward to a happy life in China after finishing my training abroad. How can I stay in America regardless of my interest, family and parents! It will be greatly appreciated if you issue a J1 visa to me. I enclose here with my resume, If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, thanks a lot for your consideration. Sincerely yours, Feng Liu After Revision Dear visa officer: I need your kind help for solving my dilemma. I am a Chinese orthopedic surgeon on a training program in Victoria Hospital till next May. In recognition of my outstanding potential, the Harvard University Medical School has just offered me a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship starting from the coming February, which is a very precious opportunity for me to promote my surgical advancement and I want to catch this chance and go to the United States for further study directly from Australia, though training here is also very valuable for me. I can not wait till the end of the program and my Australian director doesn’t permit me to discontinue it unless I have got the American visa, so I decide to apply for my J-1 visa from your consulate. As far as I know, it’s necessary for me to show you some evidence to defy my immigration intention. But I cannot collect enough documents of my property while in Australia; actually I have no real estate in China, but only about $10,000 bank deposit and stock. And I think those documents are not so important as the following circumstances to demonstrate my ties with China. It is totally wrong to base on a person's estate to judge his intention. Many corrupted Chinese officials immigrate or send their children to US. They have embezzled more than enough estate and deposit, but they immigrate. But my case is absolutely different. I work as an attending orthopedic surgeon in a first-rate national hospital in Beijing. This is a position most Chinese medical students are dreaming for, and I love my job, which gives me a fascinating sense of achievement. In China, 2/3 of my working time was spent in clinical work including orthopedic operations and physiotherapy, with rest of my time in laboratory research. After clinical training in Australia and research training in US, I will devote myself to my favorite orthopedic surgery in China. My Chinese professor expects highly of me and endorses my endeavor, and I am sure I will have a bright future in China. While in US, it is good for me to get a post-doc experience and perform laboratory research, but I don't think I will have chance to do my beloved clinical operations. As you know, it’s hard, even impossible for a Chinese to become an orthopedist in America. I have absolutely no such intentions to give up my clinical work at my hometown. I have worked in national hospitals for about 8 years, our government will assign me a house with a very low price if I come back to continue my work in national hospitals for some other years. As Chinese health-care system reforms deepen, I will be among the beneficiaries of reforms. To be frank, if I return from US after 2 years of study, I will get a high-paid position and easily afford to buy my own house and car. I can earn more money in Beijing than in the States. If I stay in America more than 2 years, my previous working experiences will not be taken into account, my fiancée will be also disappointed, for she is the only daughter of her parents and refuses to leave Beijing and her parents. I wish to come back home and establish my own family in Beijing after getting honors from US in two years. It will be greatly appreciated if you issue a J-1 visa to me. I enclose here with the photocopy of my deposit. If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to let me know. Again, thanks a lot for your consideration. Sincerely yours, Feng Liu
