TECHNICAL DATA SHEET K7 WATERPLUG K7 WATERPLUG is a hydraulic cement material that is mixed with clean, potable water to produce an extremely rapid setting plug. It is inserted into prepared areas to stop active water leaks and moisture ingress. K7 WATERPLUG may also be used for repairing cracks in concrete or mortar. It is ideal for sealing around pipes and conduits, and for setting anchor bolts and railings. It is non-corrosive and can produce extremely high strengths. Waterplug can be used for: · Plugging/stopping active water leaks · Sealing of leaking joints, holes, fine cracks, grouting slates, pipe jointing Waterplug can be used on the following substrates: · Concrete · Masonry · Earthenware · Stone APPLICATION · K7 Waterplug is usually applied manually. · Cut out the area to be plugged to minimum depth and width of 1". Clean with high pressure water blast to remove oil, grease, loose mortar, paints, coatings, etc. · To mix, add enough clean water to QUICK PLUG to make putty consistency. · Work putty between hands, into a ball-shaped mass until it begins to stiffen. · Force WATERPLUG into opening with hand or trowel. Hold for approximately 1 minute or until material has set. · The operation has to be carried out speedily because K7 Waterplug mortar sets quickly · Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or to a frozen substrate. MIXING · 1kg of water will require approximately 0.35L water. · Mix in a clean container using a trowel or mechanical mixer for at least 3 minutes. The mixture should have a lump-free, homogeneous consistency. · As the product set time is short, only mix sufficient material which can be used in the time available. CURING · Keep damp for at least 5 days and provide suitable protection against extreme weather conditions (e.g. sun, wind, frost) while setting. · The freshly treated surfaces should be protected from rain for a minimum period of 24 hours. PRECAUTIONS · The setting time of WATERPLUG will vary according to ambient and surface temperatures. To hasten set time, use heated mixing water. · The dry powder material may also be heated up to 38°C. Cool water or ice should be used to prevent extremely rapid set. · Do not add any other cements or aggregates to WATERPLUG. Do not retemper material. PACKAGING · WATERPLUG is available in 5kg plastic sack, 6 bags in a carton box. STORAGE · Shelf life is 12 months when kept dry and stored at 20°C with the container tightly sealed. · Production date is displayed on the packaging. SAFETY MEASUERS · WATERPLUG contains cement. Irritating to eyes and skin. WATERPLUG may cause sensitization by skin contact. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. · In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable gloves.
