Task 1 PICC PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited (the “Company”) was established in July 2003 with The People’s Insurance Company (Group) of China (founded in October 1949) as its sole promoter. The Company became the first Chinese financial enterprise to list overseas when the Company successfully listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in November 2003 through the issuance of 3,455,980,000 H shares. The Company currently has a total share capital of 11,141,800,000 shares, of which 69% are held by PICC Group and 9.9% are held by American International Group, Inc. (“AIG”), a strategic investor of the Company. As of the end of 2007, the Company had 60,102 employees. With 59 years of operating history, the “PICC” brand enjoys a prominent reputation in the Chinese insurance market and has influences in the international insurance market. The Company has a leading position in the non-life insurance market in mainland China, with a market share of 42.5% in 2007. The Company has nurtured and trained a large number of insurance specialists and has an outstanding workforce with extensive expertise, proficient technical skills and distinctive commitment. With more than 4,500 branches nationwide, the Company has the most extensive sales network among all property and casualty insurance companies in China. The service line and the electronic commerce platform of the Company provide various insurance services 7 days 24 hours to customers. The extensive operational data accumulated by the Company over the years provide a solid foundation for analysis and decision-making, and further the Company to have a thorough understanding of the non-life insurance market in mainland China. PICC devotes itself to property damage insurance, civil responsibility insurance, Credit insurance and guarantee insurance, short-term health insurance and accident injury insurance and so. PICC uphold the integrity of business-oriented and prudent operation. As for the "openness basing on sincerity", it means to improve the credibility, be responsible to clients and society. it also conveys the meaning of demanding the staffs to be honesty and trustworthiness, be responsible to themselves, be responsible to the company. As we know, the insurance industry is a service industry, which means that the products that the PICC sell are a kind of credit and promises. The customers want a guaranteed way of life through buying insurance. As for guarantee, it comes from the promises that PICC have made to them. Honesty is the soul to PICC, without honesty means without everything. Integrity can not be achieved overnight. The good corporate Image requires each employee to accomplish, and do it strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations of the company. What’s more, every staff is responsible for what they are doing, and doing that they say. As for "prudent operation", it means the insurance premiums are actually the customers’ money which is used to make a living. Only by prudent operation, can the company have capacity and credit. Although PICC occupies a large share in the domestic market, it still keeps a cool head, overcome complacency, and regard the continuous development as the company’s eternal goal. As we know, how to management insurance salesman usefully to increase their outstanding achievement is a big question to both salesman and insurance managers. So as for PICC, it will devote to the extending of the enterprises sale scale, and hiring the staffs based on marketing capacity. At present stage, most of companies are inclining to use direct marketing methods to apply to insurance service. But now, with the development of the technology, the company should strengthen the construction of marketing network, and pay much attention on it. Therefore, the problems arise to every insurance enterprise as how to conduct the insurance marketing and what kind of insurance strategy to make. For the future development of the company, they should take every potential problem into consideration carefully, only by this can the company realizing the increasing of the size of business, the rising of the team's income, the improvement of staffs' innovative capacity. Task 2 HR department recruiting some employees The company of PICC, as you know, is service industry. Nowadays, with the improvement of company's business, there are large demands of marketing employees in our company. As a HR, I have got a new project to recruiting some employees. There is some information about it: ﹒Number of Staff-50 ﹒Annual Turnover- 12% ﹒requirements: Bachelor degree above Good interpersonal communication skill and good presentation skill. Down to earth, hard working, responsible and careful. Can work under pressure, have the sense of deadline, mature and result driven. Logical thinking and good understanding. Passion for recruitment and related industry. Good command of English, both written and oral. Basic command of computer skill. ﹒Date-May 1 to June 1 The recruitment is divided into six stages. Application (May1-May 10) The employess should ensure the contact details are up to date. Offer and acceptance (May26-June 1) If successful, you will either be verbally offered or sent a written offer for the position.
