Both woman and man can invite each other initiatively, and often men are more actively. They can go Dutch or stand treat by one side. Usually, if an American friend says, “Let?s go get a bear.”or “Want a cup of coffee?” It means go Dutch. Just don?t misunderstand it. And in China, it?s often the men?s treat in dating, as if in this way can it shows their manliness. Also, the women always enjoy that. In America, often a friend will plan a meeting between two unmarried people who do not know each other before. This is called a “blind date”. And many Americans want to go where they are sure they can meet people with similar interests,like pubs and dancing places. Besides, they may go to a bookstore. Some bookstores in America now serve coffee and food. And many special programs and activities for single people. Other singles join in clubs to meet people. But in China, parents or relatives often arrange the “blind date”. And nowadays, many dating shows come out one after another. It offers an opportunity to singles to meet more people. At times, dating doesn?t mean the two people must become special companions or something else. Now matter in America or China, it?s a way of increaing friendship and sparing a happy time together. And remember, respect must be the basic principle in dating.
