This sequence data was sent to the OIE Reference Laboratory for Foot and Mouth Disease for constructing the phylogenetic tree. All cloven hoofed animals (a total of 324 cattle, goats or deer) raised in the area within 500 m radius of the affected farm were culled and buried. Farms which bought calves from the affected farm were investigated. Among them, two farms were found that bought calves from the affected farm within 7 days prior to the date of the outbreak. They are not located in this control zone (an area within 20 km radius of the affected farm) and all dairy cows in these farms were found to be negative to FMD tests. But as a pre-emptive measure, all these cows were culled. Three farms which were found to purchase cattle from the affected farm between 7 and 21 days prior to the date of the outbreak were put under movement restrictions and tests are going on.
