Judge Miss Darbus: first, you’ll sing a few bars and I will give you a sense of whether or not the theater is your calling.Shall we? Girl one(out of tune,lose herself): It’s hard to believe that I could not see. That you were always right beside me. This feeling like no other. I want you to know. Judge Miss Darbus: Uh-huh, yes, thank you, next! Second boy(shy and not confident): It’s hard to believe that I could not sneeze...see. That you were always right beside me. Judge Miss Darbus: hi, I admire your pluck, as to your singing... That a wonderful tie you’re wearing. Next! A young guy is dancing across the platform...crashing A couple(talking and singing): it’s hard to believe/believe. That I could not see/could not see. That you were always right beside me/beside me. Troy brings Gabriella to his private hideout. Gabriella: I just humiliated myself into the next century. Troy: no, come on. You are good. Gabriella: seems to me like everyone on campus wants to be your friends. Troy: unless you lose... Gabrilla: I’m sure it’s tricky to being the coach’s son. Troy:make me practice a little harder, I guess. I don’t know what he’ll say, about the singing. Gabriella: you worried? Gabriella: at my other schools, I was a freaky math girl. It’s cool coming here and being...anyone I wanna be. When I was singing with you, I just felt like a girl. Troy: you even look like one too. Gabrialla: remember in kindergarten how you’d meet a kid and know nothing about them. Then ten seconds later, you play like you’re best friends because you didn’t have to be anything but yourself. Dad. Father Jack: but you’re a playmaker, not a singer, right? Troy: didn’t you ever think maybe I could be both? Father Jack: maybe I’m wrong about your choice. But you must prove it to me with your action. Troy: that’s deal? I’ll prove that you’re absolutely wrong. Sense three-musical hall aside: The next couple is highly popular and controversial. Let’s welcome Troy and Gabriella. They sing a song together, All actors are dancing on the stage with much enthusiasm and passion.
