[英语学习]电影影评 1. Spirited Away(千与千寻) Spirited Away is a touching movie about a little girl named Chihiro. In an accidental entrance into a magic desired world, both her parents became pigs. In order to save them, she found a job in a bathhouse with the aid of Haku. She experienced many difficult things, but she kept her kindness. She helped some little guys carry coals, and finally won their welcome; she managed to pull out many rubbish from a river spirit when he took a bath; she stopped a spirit named No-Face from eating workers in the bathhouse and took him away. As many other films, this film has a happy ending: Chihiro retrieved her parents, and went out of the strange world. Actually Spirited Away is an animated cartoon, whose target readers are teenagers. Before writing this story, the author wanted to create a special character which could not only catch the youngsters’ eyes but also teach them something realistic. He hoped that youth could find the answer to the problem they meet during the way to a real adult when they watch this inspirational film. So he chose Chihiro as the main character. She was only 10 year old, an extremely common girl who wasn’t beautiful and was even a little recreant. When the first time she began to face with the real society which was full of improbity and temptations—including gold, greed and supremacy , she felt very frightened and hopeless. Thanks to friends’ help, finally she became a brave, perseverant girl. It tells us that we can’t grow up all by ourselves and we will never learn to be independent if we invariably stay with parents. Besides, I do appreciate the symbolism applied in this movie: 1.eat:“eat” in this cartoon seems to refer to desire and greed related to monsters. Chihiro’s parents couldn’t help eating the delicious food and became pigs. Faceless men in the bathhouse ate more and became more evil. 2. name:the name here becomes a connection to the real world . One of the most critical points is that names of those who lost would also lost in that world. This was the basis for identity and survival. 3, Pollution: the amount of rubbish dumped by human being showed the contaminated environment we live. 4. Greed: the bathhouse is a micro-society that full of different kinds of desire—a warning to our endless greed that also suggests that money is not everything. 2. Brave Heart(勇敢的心) Met Gibson, the director, also one of the leading roles in the film Brave Heart, made the film in 1995, which gave a shock to the world. In 1996, the film won 5 Oscar Prize. It was about a history of a hero, William Wallace. In the year 1272, Edward I became the king of the Britain. Under his control, the he Scots nobility gave the crown to British invaded and conquered the Scotland. T Edward I, which caused the Scotland Civil Revolt. Both William Wallace's father and brother had sacrificed in those fights. Years later, after Wallace had been raised abroad by his uncle, the Scots continued to live under Edward’s cruel laws. Wallace returned and married with his childhood friend Murron. Later, Murron was killed by Englishmen. He broke out and began to fight. With his legend spreading, hundreds of Scots volunteers came to join Wallace's army. Wallace leads his army through a series of successful battles against Englishmen. Still believing there was some good in the nobility, Wallace eventually agreed to meet with the young Robert the Bruce, the chief contender for the Scottish crown, in Edinburgh. However, he was caught in a trap, beaten unconscious, and handed over to the English crown. In London square, Wallace was hanged, racked, and disemboweled. The magistrate offered him a quick death in exchange for a plea for mercy. However, , "Freedom!" and turned his head, seeing an using the last strength in his body, he cried image of Murron in the crowd smiling at him as he was beheaded. Surely enough, the theme of the movie is freedom—the most lofty ideal that all human being keeps to fight for in history. Wallace is just an example of those fighters. Although most of we own freedom today, we can still learned some precious quality from Wallace himself. When you stick to pursue something rewarding with your heart and soul until it becomes a faith, you will find a wordless strong power from the most inner, and that power will gives you useless courage which moves you forward even the cost is life. maybe that is why heroes, idols or spiritual leaders have become so precious at this material era—this era need such great transformative fingers. Therefore, we can understand the modern significance of this movie. The significance can be divided into two parts: The first lies in individuals’ efforts and strength. The reason why this movie has struck a responsive chord in many audiences’ hearts is simple because it tells us that though we are only individuals, we can still make a difference and the avenue to success is having a strong faith. As long as we believe, persist and be brave, the success will embrace us in the next bend. The second is the significant effects of spiritual leaders, that is, when an individual’s faith becomes a social pursuit and voices the aspiration of most citizens. If at such cases, a single man plunks up his courage and stands out to express the universal desire and many ambitious people will follow him or her, and all of the power that is accumulated will burst out something marvelous even change the course of history. 3. The Parent Trap(天生一对) The Parent Trap is a Disney family movie. The film started out at a summer camp in New England. Eleven-year-old Hallie and Annie were split at an early age when their parents Nick and Elizabeth divorced. They never knew of the existence each other, meeting for the first time and soon becoming the sisters they had never were allowed to be. The girls did share one important trait: mischief, which caused them to come up with a plot to switch identities so each could get to know the parent they never really knew. They both loved the other parent instantly, and wanted them to get back together. They make great endeavor and arrange any tricky plots to bring their parents together again. Disney's original the Parent Trap is a small but successful comedy. The 1998 version utilizes a strikingly similar story line, attempting to rearrange the puzzle pieces in a much more slick and stylish package. It certainly is not anything special and it didn't quite capture the magic of the original, but it is unique in its own ways. I really like it for its simple but touching plots. The two girls recall the beautiful memory when I was a little girl, a time for pursuing what I really wanted with pure confidence and the fine expectation towards this world. Nobody’s life is smooth and we all have rainy days, but how many of us can bravely pursue what we want and make exertion to turn the life back to its right track? Maybe what moves me most in that movie is that although Hallie and Annie were very clear about that their parents had been divorced for such a long time, they didn’t just accept the reality and fell into frustration. Instead, they wanted to make a difference, and this was a big even seemed impossible task for two little girls indeed. But with intelligence and love, they made it. I do appreciate their spirit—the courage and initiative of change the reality by themselves, to make their own world better. However, as most of we grew up, we have no longer had the impulse to change anything. We quite understand what we want and are always not content with the reality, but what we tend to do is just complaining and blaming others, not to make attempt to alter the adverse or unpleasant situation. Because we have been accustomed to various disappointment and we are lazier. We have too much excuses and unnecessary misgivings. It is no wonder that sometimes adults are so admire young children and wanted to return to childhood.
