Even in modern society, capital punishment is still necessary. As all the nations are trying to build a law-governed society, capital punishment can work as a powerful legal method to guarantee the stability of society and protect the right of the majority of people. Based on this two main functions we believe that capital punishment must exist. People create law to regulate and better serve the society. Law gives the government right to end a people’s life legally with the fundamental aim to reduce crime. It is true capital punishment is a way to punish criminals, but it is just a surface aim. Like the old Chinese idiom says execute one to warn others, capital punishment exists because we want to prevent others from committing crime. All the things should have a limitation, including humanism. capital punishment should be abolished is in fact a blind pursuit of humanism. It is impossible to guarantee the right of all the people, so we need capital punishment to protect as many people as we can. To put an extreme criminal who does not feel sorry about what he or she has done is not against the idea of humanism, because the one who invade the rights of others to an extreme degree has no standpoint to ask for equal rights. To give up putting an extreme criminal to death so easily is against the equality of life and invades the victims’ dignity of life. In fact, there are the more appropriate ways of pursue real humanism. For examples, many countries are now trying to reduce the types of crimes that deserve a death sentence, and are using more gentle way to do this like the application of lethal injection in the US and China. The Essential Death Penalty In the society, there is a big issue that most of people are talking to, it’s “ Should the death penalty be abolished?” In this society, there are some of the countries still doing death penalty and some of countries had canceled doing death penatly. And now, we can discuss whether the death penalty should be abolished, and my point of view is that the death penalty should be carried out. The basic of laws is showing policy, freedom and equity. Some of people think it’s for protecting human right by abolishing death penalty. However, I want to ask, how about the victim’s human right? Dose anyone proctects them? By abolishing death penatly, some criminals will still try to do something bad and start ignoring laws’ esixtence. On the other hand, if we lacked death penalty then society would be disorderly and violent. Life would be controlled by fear. No matter you say that human is friendly or if you do the capital punishment, it might causes another society problem, likes break a family or make strong hate, you can’t abolish death penalty. President Kennedy said, when we doing something, we are not always thinking that how much benifit we can get or asking for vote. And the most important is that we think it’s right and correct. Even though the death penalty is a kind of retribution form, it can be not only an effective way to threaten those who want to do something bad to other person but also can reduce crime rate. In addition, all of us need to be responsible for our deeds, if we try doing something bad to other people, you eventually should accept the results which happen to you one day. Hence, the death penalty should not be abolished, but it doesn’t mean that we have right to misuse the death penalty. In other words, the death penalty is not a cruel behavior, it’s a justice way.
